Dear Festival Supporter,
Whether you’re a Patriot, Car Collector, Route 66 Enthusiast, or just someone who likes to have a “Festival Good Time” — the Route 66 PatriotFest is something in which you’ll want to be involved! The yearly event — slated for Saturday on Memorial Day weekend — promotes Tulsa as the “Most Patriotic City in the Nation.” The 2016 event drew more than 300 cars and the committee expects even more motorcycles, automobiles, and people in attendance next year. Other activities include an increased military presence with military displays and activities, a KidZone, Pet Show, Route 66 PinUp Contest, and more music and entertainment.
The Car Cruise will begin at 8:00 a.m. at the Route 66 Gateway on Tulsa’s eastside at East Central High School and end at the West Route 66 Gateway in Historic Red Fork. As the Cruise travels through Tulsa on Old Highway 66 it will pass numerous historic landmarks and businesses that dot our portion of The Mother Road. Following the Cruise, the venue opens at 3770 Southwest Blvd. with the Show, Military Exhibits, KidZone, entertainment, and more. At 1:30 p.m., a Motorcycle Ride, "66 on 66" is scheduled, contact Stephen Cue at 918-406-3642 for info.
The City of Tulsa, Route 66 Village, Tulsa Metro Chamber, Folds of Honor, Route 66 Main Street and many other organizations will be participating by showing their support for veterans, providing volunteers, donating goods and services, and making financial contributions. Interest in the PatriotFest has spread to other Route 66 organizations and enthusiasts and organizers expect participation to grow substantially. The objectives of the event are to: (1) Support our military and veterans organizations; (2) Promote Tulsa as the “Most Patriotic City in the Nation; (3) Promote Route 66 and; (4) Make Tulsa a destination city for the Memorial Day weekend.
Proceeds from the event benefit Folds of Honor, as well as other local military organizations.
